I tried it for about 2 minutes. Only reason I even tried it was because I was trying to find a browser that would work with TinyChat. From my recollection is was horrible because if you clicked on an area to type, it would slide up to the top of the page and you could literally not see what you were typing.

Honestly have no reason for it. Dolphin Browser HD or Opera Mobile. I use Wifi exclusively. Don't even use 3G/4G. Everything loads fast enough. Also, don't have any problem with OCN loading on Opera mobile. I had problems with Opera mini, but not mobile.

I fail to see how you think Opera Mobile's UI is ugly.

Opera Mobile

Opera Mobile fullscreen

That doesn't even include Opera Mobile with the status bar hidden.

I'm not a big fan of Opera's Android UI (not that I don't like it, it's just that there are many places where I feel space is wasted unless you disable those displays). I don't really like Dolphin's UI at all (aside from the fact that it's Google Chrome-like, which means the tabs sort of waste spaces [this is not as bad on the desktop, but on a phone!?] as opposed to Maxthon's squarish ones (on grey theme) - the UI also takes up a lot of vertical space).

With Maxthon's "grey" theme applied, everything looks perfect. The squarish tabs suit my style preference and save space, allowing several of them to appear in one row; the website name automatically scrolls down the tab. The usability is probably my prime reason to use it - gestures among other things really speed things up
It's very mobile-optimized and well designed.

It seems your Opera Mobile is displaying OCN (and other sites) correctly, which is awesome. That's not what's happening for me... text is rearranged, hidden graphics shown, among other things. It doesn't look good.

I do really wish that Firefox was compatible with my phone so I could sync bookmarks; then again I heard it wasn't very competitive for an Android browser (though the new versions may have changed that).

Firefox is terrible atm for Android. Are you sure you tried Opera MOBILE browser as opposed to Opera MINI browser? There's a huge difference between the two. I hated Opera Mini.

USB Transfer cable. Download the rom and place it into the N64oid folder.

Or download straight from your phone and place it in the N64oid folder.

That browser, at the very least, should HIDE the bottom menu bar at all times until you hit the "menu" button. There's nothing there that is so useful that it needs to be on the screen at all times. Tons of wasted space and it looks like a straight iOS port.

And that not the stock Android browser...

That's the thing, you can hide it. So I don't see why everyone's complaining. The stock browser has it as well.

Yes, I was using Opera Mobile, not Mini. As I said, I don't want to have my data going through other servers unless absolutely necessary.

You can enable an option to hide that bottom bar in Opera.

I wonder, Miki, what are your grounds as to recommending SwiftKeyX as to Simca's Better Keyboard Pro recommendation. BKP seems to make better use of space. It seems SwiftKeyX has an interesting prediction feature though.

I've used pretty much every keyboard out there, and honestly, nothing beats the prediciton & correction features of SwiftKey X.

A poll was made @ Droid Life (9/22/11 so fairly recently), out of 8 keyboards, SwiftKey X dominated the other alternatives. I mean, sure this is just opinions, but it says a lot.

Some keyboards have more themes, but honestly, what a joke. I can care less about themes, I want the most efficient keyboard out there.

I don't like the wasted space on swiftkey x. Its word prediction is nice, but I barely use word prediction. I rather type faster and I do that with bkp. I added skx though. I did take it into account.

Right on. I think you're likely better at texting. I text fast, but I rely a lot of auto correction and word prediction. Without it, a lot of times people wouldn't know what I was saying. XD

I keep using the standard Gingerbread keyboard.

It's funny because sometimes I find that the word prediction actually messes up a lot of words for me which would have normally been correct, but got auto-corrected to a different word, much like in those weird iphone screenshots where people get in trouble for saying one thing when they meant another.

Luckily I catch those before pressing send...most of the time.

Yeah, I used the stock keyboard and browser for a few months. The original browser was actually quite superior for a long while, but then Dolphin HD and Opera Mobile Browser surpassed it in terms of speed and quality.

The stock keyboard also works great. I can see why people might not want to change from it. BKP and SKX are mostly for people looking for different styles, better word prediction or neat features not found in the stock keyboard.

Swiftkey is a massive RAM hog. Plus it only has 3 predictions on screen at a time.
