erm you have to click when the flaming sword icon apears and use the ard and igni (think thats what its called) ive just started playing it myself. Good game imo.

Like everyone has stated before, you just need to hover your cursor over the bad guys and click on them to swing your sword. When the icon of your sword changes to a flaming sword, you click on that same bad guy again and you'll complete the second part of the combo. Just repeat this until the bad guy is dead.
As you level, you can add skill points to your sword styles (Strong, Fast and Group) which will eventually add more animations to your combo and finally a finishing move. It's actually really cool to watch.
