So, I have seated and reseated my chip and cooler....I have applied arctic silver five in a variety of ways, all of which giving me a strange result..higher temps...Do temps go down the longer you use Arctic silver?

</div> It takes a few days for it to cure, they say turning off your rig for 10 or 15 minutes a couple of times in the first few days also helps...

I'm also in Columbus Ohio.. would pm you but meh we can't do that yet. 10 rep thing..<br><br>
Anyway, a line down the middle worked best for me. Also it might take around 2 weeks for it to fully cure. The best way to do it is to stress the processor on and off. Games will help great with that. So will prime95.

you guys are going to rail me over this one...I wasnt taking into consideration the ambient room temp...it has varied by like 15 degrees f at least...I also might have unreal expectaitons..I mean full load OCed by 500 mHz running low 50's on air? I shoukd be happy about that~

What program are you using to get your temps? <br />

Core temp beta will get you a good reading for the actually temp of your processor.<br />

Make sure that number doesn't go over 60 and 55 for overclocking.

I use core temp beta...right now with a mild overclock up to 3.3 gHz (1200 mHz FSB and 900 mHz ram, my cores at load in dual prime 95 smalls is 46C
