I have been reading reviews on air coolers for my CPU and decided on the Silver Arrow. I went with the Extreme Version, so the one with the Two TY-143 fans with airflow up to 130CFM. Upon receiving and installing I noticed that it didn't come with an Anchor mount like the one you see in all the Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E reviews and installation videos... Why is this? At first I thought it was a mistake, but i looked again in the instruction manual and it doesn't list it as a part. Nor does it list "installing the anchor mount" as a step in the procedure. It does have a similar mount with the two screws, but it does not have the pressure anchor mount as seen in the image below on the other model

My Anchor looks similar to the one in the pictures, however it only has an empty hole where the anchor pressure mount should go, and it has no pressure mount to put in the hole! I've read that some people have complained that when the anchor pressure mount was set all the way it presses to hard on your CPU/MOBO causing problems/breakage... I'm wondering if that's why they decided to discontinue including the anchor pressure mount. Any thoughts on this? Anyone have any idea on how this will affect my temps? Without the anchor pressure mount, will my CPU run hotter than it would have had I had an anchor pressure mount? Any ideas on why Thermalright discontinued the Anchor Pressure mount for this new model?

Thank in advance,

LampShade

the picture is from the old Mounting bracket from the original Silver Arrow, Not the newer Silver Arrow SB-E (Extreme) that you bought.
and no it will be fine, the pressure knob from the old kit was smore of a gimmick from my experience.

Your image is of a Silver Arrow (4 heatpipes), NOT a Silver Arrow SB-E (8 heatpipes).

Edit: Elohim, I would have been first if I hadn't hunted down the image of mounting kit!

Sorry about grabbing the wrong image. I looked at so many reviews for these things for the past week That when I wrote this forum post I just google searched and found the first image with a pressure mount on it....

Good to hear it's not essential for the cooling Performance. I love the TY 143 fans. I wish I could buy more for my case!

You can buy them in America from FrozenCPU and not a bad price either considering what TY-140/141 sell for.
