What i'm asking, is,

Is the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev. B, cpu cooler, or the Thermaltake Big Typhoon 120mm silent heatpipe cooler, better? Which and why?

Thermaltake Big Typhoon 120 Silent Heatpipe Memory Express Link

Scythe Ninja Plus Rev. B Cpu Cooler Memory Express Link

Between the two, which would run best?

I'm in a basement, well the computer's are. Big room, cement flooring. In western canada.

Average temps are anywhere from 10c - 20c. Occasional 23-25 celcius in the summer. While the main floor + 2nd floor are 10 degree's warmer in the summer and the winter.

I'm looking to oc the hell out of the e6300 eventually. (I'll eventually replace the 2x512mb ram sticks with 4x 1gb sticks, eventually, install total 6x hd's, sli pci express, mb the r600's or similar, etc...X-fi fatality as well, lots of cables going around).

And another question, re: Scythe ninja, can I mount on it's fan, a "grill" ? (Easier to get cables around it, without blocking it, or getting sucked into it, etc.

Thanks!

If you can get the tuniq tower go for that, it is the current best air cooler. And there is very little difference between the big typhoon and the sythe, just go for the cheapest

Re: Tunic Tower thing, I considered it, but I can't find it on tigerdirect or mem express and I don't have a CC, so ebay is out of the question. (I'm working through a friend re: tigerdirect.ca, and paying him the equal amount, etc, for use of his cc).

But yeah, ty for the thoughts, but has anyone used either of these? And thought's on installation being easy/hard/awkward/smooth? Sound level's actually low? Or modestly loud? Etc.

Thanks!

[re: JacKz5o]

Do you literally mean, using AS5 say on the base of it of course to stick it on the cpu (e6300 I chose), while putting on extra ram heatsinks ONTO it? around it??? (confused). With AS5??? or what? (wouldn't that look uber messy?????)

Big Typhoon I'd say. It's mostly preference, they're both very competitive heatsinks.

This is the ramsink mod mentioned earlier. Also recommended: getting a 100+CFM fan...have fun! The BT might cost a tad more with the mods, but I think it's the 2nd best air cooling period...

ourorboros1827, amazing job, but it looks like a simple mem heatsink's on it, but the heat kinda get's drained elsewhere to no where, and sit's there. Is there a "serious" improvement of 5 celcius or more "drop" (example, 40 idle, 50 load, to 35 idle, 45 load with an average ambient temp of 25 celcius). ?

Looked over the ram heatsink's on the thermaltake BT, and wow, impressed, re: adhesive, is that like a form of uber glue for metalic contact vs popsicle stick coasters? (olllllllllld craft I did agges back, I still have them... they rule for coffee mug coasters
).

And what adhesive would be the better to attache ramsink's to the BT ?

I actually was looking at those 2 coolers + thermalright Ultra-90. I went with the BT, I read that the Scythe had some average reviews. Ultra 90 was what I really wanted, but the 90mm fan would be a little noisy for me.

I did the BT + FM121 (had one lying around). It cools infinately better than my AC7
