I have 3 of these fans that I bought in a set from before..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103052

How would these fare on a Magahalems? Haha..

Also, these are 25mm so the included 2 clips should work correct?

Don't want to spend cash if I don't have to yet.

Meh...they won't perform that well especially if you only install one of those fans. I mean its the Mega so it will still keep things cool but the fans aren't going to help it much.

Well, it comes with 2 clips so 2 fans in push/pull?

For that price, I could've gone with some Yate Loons. Better than the R4s.

They're not really designed for heatsinks, those fans. Their static pressure leaves a lot to be desired.

Something like a Zalman F3 (for a 25mm fan) would be my choice.

You'll still get good temperatures though.

Well.. there was 4. And they were $15. I just bought them from before for something else. It was like $4 a fan.

Damn.. I forgot to consider static.

If you want cheap fans get a couple of these.

2 clips as in 4 wires or 2 clips as in 2 wires? You will need 4 wires to suppoert 2 fans.

Heatsink, two pair of 120x25mm fan mounting clips, LGA775 and LGA1366 retention plates, all mounting hardware, thermal compound and instruction set

It says 2 pair of mouting clips so does that mean 2 sets of 2 clips = 4?

I haven't been following hardware lately.

You mean two pairs of clips right?

The Rev B. (new ones) comes with two pair of 25mm fan clips for a push pull config.

Personally, I would recommended in getting a pair of 38mm fan clips for a single 38mm fan.

If you want to stick to the 25mm fan(s), then the Cooler Master R4 would be good.

Well the normal R4s would be good but those are the 40ish CFM model so they are a little slow IMO to be pushing enough air through for a solid overclock. If they were Yate 40CFM fans then yes due to the better static pressure but not the R4s. Even says right on newegg case fan

Yeah - 44CFM and low static pressure does not bode well for the megahalem. Even in push/pull, you'd be much better off with one 120x38. Here's a test I did of the IFX-14 vs the Megahalem - it also shows the difference between 120x38 and 120x25 performance. Although it's only a comparison of push/pull setups, I can tell you right now that with high static pressure 120x38s, there's only a 1C difference (if that) between push and push/pull.

That all said, I would recommend getting a Panaflo to slap on your Megahalem. Remember that it's also sold under the brand Rexus (if you're looking on newegg)

They aren't exactly silent, but the motor noise isn't too bad. I recommend them.

He speaks the truth! The fan he is referring to would be this one.

Oh and if your looking for silence then check out these videos to see what your ears consider quiet:

This 38mm?

I was planning on getting two of these:
http://www.svc.com/sy-fan-sff21g.html

So that it doesn't interfere with my Dominators.

That's the low speed version - I personally have three of the Ultra-High speeds, but then again I have them on a fan controller

I didn't realize that you had Dominator sticks. If that's the case, I guess you'll just have to make due with push/pull 120x25s... S-Flex and Gentle Typhoons are probably your best bets for high static pressure 120x25s. The S-Flexes are tried and true, but the Gentle Typhoons recently entered the scene and I hear that the static pressure on them is great - also a better CFM:dba when compared to S-Flexes.

I guess I forgot to mention that this is for..

Intel 860
EVGA P55 FTW
Corsair Dominators 1600

2 of this it is then..
Good results here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...iWUlQZmc&hl=en

Yeah you'll want 25mm thick so it doesn't hit your RAM, but you're going to want those S-Flex G's on a fan controller. They're not quiet at 12v.

I'm fairly sure you can remove the fin array from the Dominators you're getting and leave the side spreaders on; you just need a 1/32" hex key to do it. Once that's done, you can fit any fan you want.
