Was gunna get some nice speakers + a 1400x900 monitor - probably that $190 Hans-G one at Newegg.

Thinking about just going for a 1680x1050 monitor, probabably this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824112003

Not sure yet. Going to be used both for a X360 and computer. Don't mind lowering quality a bit (only really play BF2 and BF2142, and I get 60+ FPS on high at 1024x768 in both. )

Just wondering. With the speakers I planned to get anyway, I would't be able to get until probably after Christmas anyway, so I will be getting speakers, just a be a little later.

1680x1050 + X360 looks like sex on a stick.

This is also a nice monitor that you might want to consider
I'd look into the Samsung 204BW or 205BW (practically the same):
1680x1050
700:1
20"
6ms
Comes with Samsung's "Perfect pixel guarantee" where they replace it if it has ANY dead pixels
$290 at the egg (shop around first but that's a good price)

Edit: It's what I'm going to get

If you could just get a little more, say about 30-40 bucks you can get your self a nice Acer 22" lcd. Nice big size for your comp and your 360.

I was looking at it at microcenter today and almost pulled out my cc to get it. So tempted...until the sales associate told me it was out of stock. Made me a little sad on the inside. Its really nice looking. Nice and bright display. Clear, fonts. Looked really good with the movie that had playing on it. And I didn't see any backlighting issues to boot.

Might want to wait until you get a faster video card because running anything but the recommended resolution is downright awful looking. Although I guess you could just put the settings on low and play high res. Just a thought.

Besides BF2142 (which I won't buy if they dont take the ads out), CSS:S, and a bit of BF2, I don't really play any games.

Think I'm going 1440x900 anyway though. Money. Need some speakers. DVD burner. Fans. Case. Etc etc.

Sorry 'bout that.

Maybe I dont know my res' too well but 1440x900 doesnt seem all that much better then say 1280x1024, just seems the same res in WS. But 1680x1050 seems pretty good just that your vid card and only 1gb of ram is gonna beg for mercy if you max the games out.
