I was thinking about buying these parts and my friend helped me along the way, and he suggested that I consult with this site so here goes:
(pretty low budget)
Motherboard - ASUS P5P43TD ATX Intel Motherboard [here] - 85$

Basically, I just want to know whether it works, since I've never built a computer yet

It looks like it should work. You might consider getting an E5300 to save money over the E6300 and getting a larger harddrive. You won't be able to store all that much on only 160GBS especially if you have data such as music and pictures.

1TB is a good pricepoint right now.
