Your PC is good to go with a 6870.

Also your psu has enough power for two 6870s, so one is absolutely no problem.

Go ahead and buy that nice card

It possibly could bottleneck two 6870s @ 3Ghz. Get that sucker up to 3.4Ghz or so and he'd be golden for two cards.

But one 6870 with his [email protected] 3Ghz is a nice balance imo.

Yep, no issues.

Can you stretch for a 6950?

6870 is still great imo.
Well
Im going for this
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/244474?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products

£139.00 inc vat and delivery

and i think 6950 is 170 or more

i feel im already pushing my budget at 139

Im not much of a hard core gamer since i started my work so i feel its going to be a waste.

I am going to be upgrading to ivybridge in 2012 and will be moving the 6870 on to there

Go for the 6870, its a solid GPU at a great price point. There's no issues at all running it on your rig either.

They're somewhat close. But the 6870 overclocks just as well, so it will always have the lead.
