Hey guys, I ordered my computer parts and here is what Im getting. Just wanted some input if its any good or what I should have gotten differently.
Should be here early next week. I was trying to spend $1000.

Sorry with all the links, its the best I could think of. Please leave feedback. thought the cd-rom didnt matter... and im getting a 22" monitor.
I believe im going to get the Corsair H50 cpu cooling system.
I want to do overclocking to get the most out of my system.

Thanks,
Chris

everything looks pretty good, but if it were me, i would have spent the extra $45 and upgraded to the Phenom II 955 BE. Also, the Samsung F3 1TB hdd has better performance for less money, but its sold out right now. But overall, thats a pretty solid build, i doubt you'll be disappointed

The Corsair H50 isn't what you would consider true water cooling. If you want WC temps, you need to build a custom loop, which is a much more daunting task and averages around $300. You would get similar temps to the H50 with a good aircooler like the Mugen 2 or a TRUE, and a lot cheaper at that.
Better memory modules for less money:
G-Skill Ripjaws 1600 CL7
Much better timings.
Thanks for the input guys. That memory cost more than what it does now
I think thats why I didnt get it. I also saw people having problems running them on the AM3 boards??
I know the h50 wont give me true water cooling temps. Itll give me the same temps as a high end air cooler. Ive been looking at air coolers too, but theres so many and I dont know which one I should get. Also the mobo is AM3, so Id have to get a special mount for some of those fans right? the H50 would be simple and cool better. II do like the big cpu coolers though

apparently you have to call corsair to get AM2 mounts for the H50.

there's not much point in buying the stuff and then asking if it's good. you did okay but could have done a lot better. especially for $1000
Okay, so what would have made my build better then?

well if newegg hasn't shipped it yet, you can cancel it and get all your money back. If not, you can return it and take the 15% restocking fee. But honestly, its not a BAD build... It'll still power through games.

But right now, you would be able to get a decent i5 build for $1000, which will beat ANY amd build.

CPU: i5 = $200
Mobo: ASUS P7P55D = $150
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws 2x2GB CAS 7 = $80
GPU: SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X Radeon HD 4890 1GB = $200
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB = $110
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two = $130
PSU: Antec TruePower 750W = $110

Total: $980

Well, you havent added a monitor in there either. My build included a monitor as well.
I was originally going to get the nvidia 260, but found the 4890 was better. I wasnt exactly sure what to look for as far as RAM either. I was able to get the mobo for $100, and the 1TB HD for 80.
I know i5 and i7 is better, but considering this build is better than my laptop I had.. Ill see improvement none the less.
I would have recommended 8GB of ram but thats just me because i game AND multitask alot. good build though.
Ya true.. but for now 4gb is fine for me. Thats plenty enough maybe as a birthday gift thatd be a good idea.
I was contemplating the ATI 5770 vs the 4890, but went with the 4890 since it outperformed the 5770
Get a HAF 922 case its $60 bucks after MIR

There is a combo deal for that exact mobo with a Phenom II X4 955 for $230! go grab it I did!

750GB Black Cavier on Newegg for $60.

Save a lot of cash and put it into better parts perhaps?

Everything thing I just mentioned I bought today and yesterday on the egg.
