Don't want to drop cash yet to buy a nice PSU since I just bought a new mobo and a gig of memory. My current PSU is an antec 300w.

Would it be ok (albeit, ghetto) to use my old antec 200w to run fans and maybe the hard drives; reducing the load on my 300w? I figure I can bolt it to the back of the case and run power cables through an open PCI slot.

Think this is a feasible work-around till I can come up with the scratch? (I'm a medical student so my cash flow is ALWAYS in the red)

it's possible but you gotta do that thingy to the mobo connector on the psu in order to run it w/o a mobo. lemme find it, one sec.
