Newegg is out of the option for right now because I don't have a credit card and I can't pay for anything online. I got a pc shop down the road and this is what I am looking at

this. Some say that won't be enough for my gfx card which is going to be this

Or this psu cooler master

I heard on some review that you need at least 23 amps coming from each rail is that good

The CM CM RP-550 is eXtreme Power series psu. The antec EA500 is better. It should be for your rig with 4850 GPU.

In this case, I would go for Anetc EA500.

The EA500 is a good PSU is is definitely better than most Cooler Master ones. The 12V rails don't have a great deal of power but the PSU will definitely handle your system and card without a hitch.

These are also good 500W PSU's.

*Edit* To the post above, do not go with Raidmax. Stick with a more reliable brand like Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling, OCZ (if you must), Antec, Silverstone, etc.

Power supplies should be purchased based on the brand. Certain brands make quality PSU's while other brands don't. I'm not saying that if you buy a Raidmax PSU, your computer will go up in smoke. I'm saying that the fact of the matter is, there are plenty of other better choices from more reliable brands for the same price. Why risk a system with a company whose reputation is not nearly as spotless as the companies I listed previously.

do you think any of these will be anywhere but newegg. SO the antec in that case. It will be better than the coolermaster. Does the antec have a 6 pin pci-E

It has two of them.

These PSU's will be found on a number of different sites. Where do you need it to ship to?

ok and the two name brands you linked to have crappy ratings as the raidmax quantum i linked to has much better reviews. so once again...name brands don;t always mean better...

This will be my final post on the subject. Ratings mean nothing on Newegg. In general, people who leave ratings and reviews on internet sites like those don't have much technical background. Some, like the people on here, actually can comprehend what makes a product good but most people base their ratings on ease of installation, price, and shipping speeds. It has been said before and I will say it again: You should never trust site ratings as your sole reason to buy a product. And I leave it at that.

*Edited for clarity*

you're joking right? most people on this site, probably including you buy online. most of the time because they do have a clue. a clue of what they want and a clue that you can get better deals online. the people that only buy in stores are the ones that mostly don;t have a clue. i'm not saying to trust newegg ratings 100% but it deff. gives you a good idea of a product. and this is my final post on this.
