I was just thinking that.

And it just happens to be the most popular console, yet it has "GeForce 4" graphics - a little ironic!

Ironic how? Graphics != Fun.

Compare an NES to a 360 anyday, and the NES will continually win.

finally ATi getting some money, good for them
I wouldn't say "finally", they've been selling these chips the whole time, this isn't some new development. The money they made from the chips is good, but it still hasn't been enough to offset the debt they already had.
Just goes to prove that the best graphics don't make the best games. Just like the fastest car won't always win the race, especially if it has a one-armed drunk driver like the PS3.
I doubt ATI makes much money on selling that chip, but it is something, and 50 million sure is a lot.

Most of the games on the Wii are...well junk with bad graphics. If you take out the first party Nintendo games, there's really nothing much worth getting.

Judging by alot of the titles that sell well, it also goes to prove that console 'tards don't care what they're doing as long as they're doing it on a Wii. Yay?

Most of the titles downright suck and wouldn't make it on PC if they were embedded in the OS, let alone sold for the prices they sell for on the Wii. The ones that don't downright suck are headed for it by means of oversequalization. We get it, Nintendo, Sonic is fast...find a new character totally out of that universe for us already. We've been playing Mario and Sonic for decades.

Fixed. The Wii has nothing to do with gaming and everything to do with greedy companies exploiting the gaming-illiterate.

How are they exploiting the "gaming-illiterate"? They're making a console that just about anybody can play. You don't have to be an FPS/MMO master to enjoy video games. The Wii fills that niche for the casual gamer and that's why they're selling so well.

Because most of the games are crap and prey on the uneducated consumer. They aren't focused on making good games, they're focused only on making money.

Outside of Wii Sports and the various light-gun games, I have never played a Wii game that didn't make me cringe.

It's power consumption is excellent though

A wii only consumes 18W of power peak when gaming

It's relative, see...

My desk consumes 0W of power, peak while producing 0 FPS at 0x0 resolution and holding up my computer that burns the rainforest and sacrifices babies for power which will push >60FPS at 1920x1200 4xAA in younameitville.

I'll turn the air conditioning off to conserve power for the audio/visual experience I want NOW if I have to (I don't).
