New and notable graphics card manufacturer from the east, ColorFire, is ready with its Radeon HD 6790 graphics card, the Colorful associate brand is starting with a non-reference design card like every other AIB. Despite making some necessary cost-cutting in terms of components, ColorFire didn't compromise on features such as dual-BIOS, hardware-based voltage control, and a powerful-looking cooler. Further, ColorFire's card needs just one 6-pin power connector, contradicting reports that HD 6790 needs two.

funky and clean PCB

if this thing hits the right price point, new budget card for budgeters

The heck is the purpose of the plastic bit at the end of the PCB?

Looks to be a carrying handle.

I want to see a cylone and/or twin frozr version of these cards. More so, a review.

At $130, the Radeon HD 6790 will become a legend, just like the Radeon HD 4850 was, in terms of bang-for-buck. The fact that this card should only be around 5-8% slower than a 6850 and is priced so cheap should tell you something.

Typo was in reference to HD6790 I believe.

Doesn't bother me either. I'm used to all the different spellings. ie: tire =/= tyre

Ontopic: Pretty impressive. Although, I think I'd have to give it a pass until they get some more manufacturing history (pertaining to vid cards) behind them. Sorry, I've been burned one too many times in the early adopter route.

The bigger question is; why do you care?

Anyway, the card looks great, except for that plastic bit at the end.

Now the question is...Is this a trustworthy brand? I mean this does look good, but not sure if this is safe

Aww. Just saw it won;t be sold in America.
I kind of liked it

When you see a card from an unknown manufacturer, and u see how much thought and work they had put in it. Well i think they are trust worthy
. I mean at the end of the 460 days colorful, nvidia's making side of colourfire, made a 460 clocked at 890mhz... Point is this card is greatly designed. Oh and the extra cover is for u to carry it just like a prada bag
.
