SPARKLE Computer Co., Ltd., the professional VGA card manufacturer and supplier, today introduced the SPARKLE GeForce GTS250 Low Profile Graphics Card, the world's first low profile graphics card based on GeForce GTS250 graphics chip, providing powerful 3D performance and amazing home theater experience to HTPC enthusiasts.

Consummately designed low profile, the PCB height of the SPARKLE GeForce GTS250 Low Profile Graphics Card is 6 cm,only half the height of ordinary Graphics Card with full profile design, which makes the SPARKLE GeForce GTS250 Low Profile Graphics Card to be the best partners for HTPC. HTPC enthusiasts don't need to worry about the inconvenience caused by narrow space HTPC chassis and full profile designed graphics cards. With low profile design, the SPARKLE GeForce GTS250 Low Profile Graphics Card not only can easily meet the HD video playback and DX10 gaming demand from HTPC users, but also can easily satisfy the requirements from SSF, mini-chassis and industry PCs which demand compact and practical graphics card.

This is really cool, it'll be my top choice if I ever build a HTPC. Too bad it's sparkle though, I've heard mixed reviews about them
I was thinking it would be awesome for my brother's SFF case:

Then I remembered it has a crappy 200W PSU that's specifically designed for the case.

I wonder if all the heat it dumps into the case is good for it....

That said, they also have a low profile 9800GT that looks much like this one.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same card, just with a couple more stream processors
Thats the same cooler they used with the 9800GT, and IIRC it couldn't even cool that under load.

I imagine the clock speeds on it might be somewhat reduced. I had a 9800gt version of this that worked fine, although the 8800gt I replaced it with feels faster, although I only used it for GUI.

Looks like a Micro ATX PSU would work in that

It will be hot and loud, definitely not the ideal choice for an HTPC.

Sparkel is great! I had a 9600gt from them that ran cooler then both an Asus and XFX 9600gt.

lol same...

I was kinda bummed when I saw him put OSX on it, but it looks like he's got Ubuntu, Mac OSX, and Vista on it.

Regardless, that's THE best mod video I've ever seen.

I wish I had half the tools that guy has

Are you kidding me I raged so hard at that vid IMHO it looked cooler before the mod. Stealthing the parts inside would have looked better.

Setting aside the superb work put into both the video and the mod...

By the end of the video the entire thing is gloss black, can't see inside it. I don't see a good reason to stealth the I/O ports since this appears to have been meant to be a fully functional PC.

While I wouldn't want a mod of mine done in the exact same way(especially NO OSX(sorry Apple peeps)) I think it was an amazing mod.
