[TR] Gigabyte adds 6Gbps SATA, USB 3.0 to AMD mobos

These new boards are the GA-790FXTA-UD5, GA-790XTA-UD4, and GA-770TA-UD3, and Gigabyte based them on AMD's 790FX, 790X, and 770 chipsets, respectively. Along with the new I/O, Gigabyte says it also increased the amount of power available through USB ports, just like on the P55 boards. (The firm advertises this new wave of mobos with the "333" label, which stands for third-gen SATA, USB 3.0, and tripled USB power.)

Isn't AMD's next chipset suppose to have them integrated? I wonder how Gigabyte will be linking the new USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps so they don't get bottlenecked.
Very cool. Hopefully this doesn't add much of a price premium to them. Gigabyte has a habit of refreshing their line up and tacking on $20-$40 on each.
They better get some Socket 1366 motherboards w/ USB 3.0 and SATA 6GB/s out before Christmas. I prefer they don't have the ******ed slot layout most X58 gigabyte boards have..
i like. faster USB charging, and faster speeds... any idea when these will come to market?

890FX will not have USB3.0, just SATA 6gb/s; which is very disappointing

I bet it will be awhile before USB3.0 and SATA 6GB/s devices are on the market. Probably late 2010... if not early 2011.

Sweet, now to find a HDD that can hit 6GBps.
Can't wait to see, I've always liked Gigabyte's motherboards.
I wonder if it will cripple any of the PCIe lanes like the p55 boards do... Probably
790FX will be x8/x8 crossfire then D:

probably one of the candidates of my purchase next year. i want a 890fx chipset though

That is the worst layout for any board I've ever seen in my life.

Yeah, but like I said, that has a horrible layout and plans to ship for $350 USD. I'm looking for the $250 USD range.

wouldn't you need a new memory controller on the cpu to have triple channel ddr3? I don't see that happening anytime soon (haven't heard of it being on either Thuban or Bulldozer)

Gigabyte is sure doing a good job at wooing me back to them
