I'm into Sims every now and then. Just got into it again. A10c game is hell using hatswitches to look around. I need all those on my x52 pro for other functions. I still think it's over priced.
I would consider using the free software facetracknoir first. You will need a webcam, good lighting, and some time to tweak the settings. It will give you some trouble in DCS a10c since you have to hold your head still to push the cockpit buttons. But, it does work. For other games with free look, like Dirt, Wings of Prey, and Hawx, it works great.
I ordered a track ir 5 so now I just Need a hat. Got it on ebay for 130. Playing hawx 2 with the x52 pro is fun but holy dead zone. I think I'm close to finishing it. Next will be ace combat but I dont think that game supports my joystick.
Tried out the demo of take on helicopters and didn't like it. I do have ka 50 too but I'll wait to get my track ir before playing those dcs games. I'm pretty much out of good flight Sims by now.
I got the trackir for ARMA 2 / Dayz and it becomes natural after a while to look and see how many zombies are chasing ya. LOL its good just make sure you dont have to many lights and reflections in your room.
I have the TrackIR 5 and the TrackClip Pro. I can't even imagine playing those games that support it without it. It's no more cost than a good mouse + keyboard and adds so much to the experience.

It was mainly to avoid a hat. I've had no issues with it, as far as the tracking goes. They are prone to breaking if dropped, so don't sneeze while wearing the headphones it's attached to.
Natural Point sent me a free replacement though, so that's awesome.
Looking at the HD 800's, I'm not even certain it would work with those. It fits great on the PC 360's though.
