and also what order should i unistall and install and have you guys got any tips for the 1200 because i have seen on the net different way to say around the optical drive and hard drive bays ect. any help is much appreciated

p.s. help dosn't include saying that my pc is to crap for a 1200 or soemthing to that effect

Yeah I don't see any harm in doing that. Some people would probably recommend reseating it and applying new thermal paste since you are already taking out the mobo anyways and it doesn't hurt to clean your parts from time to time.

There isn't much advice to give on the Antec 1200 its a pretty straight forward case. Use the cable management that it offers it is really nice, and it you benefit with better cooling.
You can leave the CPU cooler attached when you transfer the motherboard to the new case.
I would just unhook everything from the motherboard, unscrew it, and place it in the new case. Do the front panel hook-ups first, and then attach the power connectors, SATA/IDE components, USB, etc. Then install any video cards or PCI cards you have.
Enjoy your new case.
BTW Where did you buy it from?
Mobo should be easily transferable with heat sink.

The order i do it in is:

Mobo (connect front panel)
Psu
DVD Drives (fan controllers and others like that)
Hard drives
Connect and route all power cables
Graphics cards and add on cards

And to uninstall i do that in reverse.

Good luck, nice case upgrade aswell

I haven't actually got it yet but i'm getting in for my bday which is soon and i want to get straight into it

oh and i know one of you guys said you should reseat it well i don't have any thermal paste and the ac 64 is very new like 3 weeks old something like that so thats why i want to leave it

also any tips on front layout of the case

No need for a reseat on the CPU cooler. I have moved my mobo around with the cooler attached many times, and it has no ill effect at all.
The front layout is whatever you desire. I typically put the DVD drive on top, and fit the HDDs behind a fan.
Since the 1200 is a large case, and the PSU is on the bottom, make sure that your power cables are long enough to reach all the components. For that reason, I would install the PSU right after the mobo, and see what can and can't be done.

2nd, that is why i always seam to install the psu second since it will have limitations on where i place my drives, also remember if your going to put a c drive and a hard drive on a single pata cable there will be another limitation on the distance there.

yea thats one worry because i'm upgrading the psu (norrowed it down to two) one is reccommended by you guys the corsair 620 w modular one with the red decals and the silverstone element because its cheaper and the computer shop reccomended it and i asked them and they said that silverstones had longer cables and it would reach but some people say the the computer shop that i go to are dicks but i have bought from them before(bought ac 64 there) so i dunno

and also i have seen soem pictures of people cable management and they were using the 1000W corsair but I thought with the 1200 the psu had to be upside down but they had them around the right way so ?

Your definitely gona want to get a 4/8pin extension unless you want to run it across the board.
can you look at www.playtech.co.nz and recommend one and also are you sure this is needed to route behind motherboard tray
This is the only one I see on the site you linked but ya your gona want to get 1.I liked to had a cow when I couldnt install my second 88Gt because I had to run the 8pin across the board and it wouldn't reach with both cards in.This Rosewill has pretty long cables and it wouldn't reach at all when I ran it behind the board.

it's a good idea to keep it on cause you can hold the motherboard by holding the cpu cooler rather than holding the mobo by the edges which isn't safe
oh ok so can i leave my ram in there to or should i take it out
i'd rather leave it in because its so hard to get the ram to clip onto my motherboard when i took it out to look what speed at brand it was when i tried to put it back it i could clip one clip and not the other i was like *** to get it in i had to push extremely hard and i was worried what was going to break first the ram or the motherboard

Yes, you can leave the RAM installed also.

cool it will make it a lot simpler and does everybody agree that if i want to route the cables behind the motherboard tray i need to get an 8 pin extension

If it's only a few bucks, then I would just get it, and if you don't need it, toss it in a box or drawer until you do.
