You can hopefully do the flash without a PCI card. Go into notepad and type this in:
Atiflash -f -p 0 (name of bios and extension). If the bios is called x1800.bin, for example, you'll need:
Atiflash -f -p 0 x1800.bin
Save this file as autoexec.bat and add it to your boot disk with the latest version of atiflash and the bios.
When you restart the system, the bios will flash automatically. Leave the system for a couple of mins and then restart and hopefully you'll now have the picture back.

Just rename the file to X1800XT.bin or else it will be too long for dos to recognise.

Hey Ste remember the x850 I screwed up?
I took it back to compusa for store credit, which gave me $280. Didn't rebuy it yet cuz they didnt have any in stock.
Funny thing, I check their site today and now there's an instant savings of 80 bucks on it... thats right, now its only 200. I got extra lucky

Now that I have 80 extra to spend there, I think I want to get something to cool my card with. Any specific recommendations? (from compusa)

Yeah, that's extremely lucky
Don't let it put you off modding though, just got to double check everything before you do it.
I'd recommend the Zalman VF700-cu as a cooler.

When you go to format the floppy disk through My Computer, select create MS Dos Boot disk and then add those files to it.
