Okay, so I was considering moving to that setup as my downgrade but all I can find are 8.9 drivers with Juniper support benchmarks. And with those drivers the benchmark with 3 cards was as good as a single 4890 in crysis.
SO, my question to all of you driver nuts, how has performance increased for the 5770 now with 10.x drivers from 8.9? Also how has the scaling increased or decreased with 10.x drivers from 8.9? With 10.x drivers will it be better than 1 5870 now? Or will it still only be on par with the 4890?

EDIT: should i sell both cards now, get a cheapo temp card to make the rig usable, then buy the cards when 6xxx arrives?

scaling is alot better now with the 10.x series drivers. these cards scale insanely good now and 2 of them are better than a 5870

Overall i would the scaling has increased. But im shocked to hear that 3 5770's are only equal to a 4890. I would have thought just 2 5770's would have been significantly faster.

3 5770s will be similar to a 5970. I mean 2 in crossfire are about on par with a 5870 and tri-fire has been tweaked and now gives a pretty good boost from 3 (Like another 60% on top of 2 cards: 1 Card-100%, two cards-180%, Three Cards-240%(I think I'm not completely sure but i think its something like that))

Thats what I was after

going tri 5770 then. only 300 for near the power or the power of a 5970? I'll take it, and pocket the other 700.

3 was equal to one 4890 back at release time over a year ago. drivers hadnt matured and i was looking to see what the maturing had done to them now

Sell them now while you can before prices drop. And yes, my crossfire 5770s are amazing. Can't imagine how good 3 would be. <3 these things.
