I received all the parts today put them into the case cable managed and around 2:30 AM I finished but low and behold it didn't even post. Now before I go all return happy I would like to know exactly what the problem is. So step by step.
1.) Positive it is not the ram I touch an unpainted piece of metal before I touch anything.
2.) Could it even be a problem with the CPU as I was unboxing it I realized I had silk underwear on which has a habit of conducting static but I removed them promptly.
3.) After all the power cords were hooked up it took a little more grunting than I like to put in my video cards maybe I bent the board to far?
4.) first time I tried to get it to post the backlit keyboard was not on while plugged into the back USB port.
5.) Perhaps it has something to do with my PSU I just got home for spring break and long story short the PSU I am using was packed in with some dirty laundry maybe it was zapped and is now not giving off enough power if that is even possible.
6.) CPU was difficult to mount but from what I hear it looks like they always are.
7.) All cord were properly connected.
8.) Assembled on carpet but always grounded the board with a box.
9.) It was getting late perhaps I slipped up on my drive connection.
10.) Would not having my hard drive connected make any difference at all.
11.) All the mobo lights were on, the keyboard worked from the front case USB ports maybe I burned one of the Fugitsu solid state capacitors by the I/O area could that be why it's not posting.
12.) No strange diagnostic beeping at all.
very tired long day I took the board out disassembled it and I'll hit it back up tomorrow but the same thing will probably happen. Any help is greatly appreciated

PSU recycled and HDD. HDD was kept in the desktop I brought home which I still have yet to boot. and one of the two video cards I only tried both and then the one never only the other. and I forget if it was the new or old I tried Im pretty sure it was the new one though.
1 k
2 your naked?
3 doubt full they are tougher than u think
4 is your switch on?
5 yes thats possible ... and likely
6 the cpu should fall right into place no friction at all the heatsink however should be tough to get on so that it has good contact with the cpu
7 sure?
8 ? unless u were rubbing your sox back and forth u should be fine on carpet its not a good thing to do but if u were grounded shouldn't have caused problems
9 what do u mean?
10 it should still post
11 was there a warning light on?
12 sounds like a psu problem then
i hope lol those things arn't cheap... do intel mobo have the lever like amd and if so did u pull it up befor droping in your cpu... anyway that still wouldn't cause what your problem is

771, 775, and 1366 have their pins on the motherboard. The CPU drops in and then is held in place by a steel bracket which overlaps some of the outer edge of the processor.
reassembled everything this morning still no post. I do not have an adequate PSU to run the system on hand for replacement. I know someone who might I'm going to his house later on and I'll check to see if that is the problem. The problem is not the board but the PSU not giving out enough power. This could and probably is the reason it is not posting. The last time I put electronics with my laundry.
