During a recent ASUS show and tell, an spokesperson said that the Taiwanese company, who made the netbook famous, would soon release a model, apparently called Eee PC 1002HA, that would come with discrete graphics.

ASUS was quick to mention that it should not be confused for the 10.2-inch N10 with Nvidia 9300M graphics, but then again - what exactly is it?

The netbook market is quickly getting out of hand with companies looking to capitalize on the success of the small notebooks. We can't help but thinking though, isn't the point of the Eee PC to be a cheap, small and long battery life notebook?

Adding all these fancy bits and pieces and expensive paint jobs or what-not, is really confusing the once simple netbook. What exactly is the difference between this supposed new model versus a standard 15-inch notebook?

I think this is sweet a small portable playground. Considering the size of this makes it extremely convent to take this css ing beast anywhere

Dangit! I knew I should have waited! Now I'm stuck with this 1000H with GMA 960 graphics.

A 10.2' netbook that has discreet graphics?! That thing is now going at the top of my Christmas wishlist. I wonder how much it'll cost..
hey if you can afford it, why limit yourself?
Hmm, this is a great idea IMO if they do it right. Netbooks are made for portability, battery life, and cheap price. If this ends up costing $800 whats the point? I would like to see a Netbook with a 9400m gpu, 2gb ram and 8hrs battery life with it running.
I need an ultraportable for college. Something with long battery life but with some graphics juice so I can play cs:s and dota. Then FarCry2 on my comp now. This looks perfect.
The next thing we're going to see is a netbook with CF/SLI.....
I don't think this is physically possible yet since high end components will generate some good heat turning that mini notebook into a waffle iron. Also, the battery will not last as long as expected.
Extreme Heat + Tiny Battery = Epic Fail
It's funny because I can see the watermark in the bottom corner.

Is this how they got Windows 7 running on it?
First off, netbooks are overpriced, and they need to globally drop $50-100.

Secondly, better graphics would be interesting. As I recall, the 9300/9400m allow you to switch from integrated, so you have the power when you need it, but more battery if you don't.

This is kind of old news, unless they're talking about another netbook with discreet graphics to be released?
ASUS N10

Edit: read the source more and saw that this is infact different from the N10.
Sorry, it is a tad early for me
