Probably more marketing trickery similar to what happened with RV770 and Eyefinity.

They make nVidia think they are behind and then nVidia sets their performance accordingly and WHAM! AMD comes out with something crazy right when nVidia releases it's finished product.

I wouldn't mind seeing the 5830 performance though. Of all of AMD's evergreen cards it performs the worst.

Ya, Nice drivers indeed, Instead of a 38 minimum you'll be getting 32ish, Enjoy your couple extra maximum frames.

The 32 fps minimum probably accounts for 0.05% of actual gameplay, whereas the extra 5 or 6 FPS you gain in the average accounts for 95%
