$35 dollar, extreme bang for the buck.

review by hollowtek

camera phone pix:

*First Impression*

Packaging:
Simple and clean, basic black box with gold font.
Decent presentation.
You begin to realize how they were able to keep these IEMs so inexpensive, they probably started with packaging.

Build Quality:
8.5/10
Very nice silver wires.
Solid and seemingly sturdy 3.5mm connection.
IEM housing clear plastic, no complaints on quality.
Includes a convenient shirt clip and piece of velcro wire strap.
Somehow they were able to add a bunch of different size fittings.

Aesthetics:
9.5/10
These things look badass.
Quality components show, someone sees these and might mistaken them for some high end headphones.

Sound:
8.8/10
For $35, you seriously can't complain. I only docked off 1.2 points because it could use a wee bit more bass- but you can't have it all at this price lol.
Crisp, punchy highs which gives it some good detail.
Warm mids almost make up for the gentle bass response.
Gentle bass, possibly even weak for those who are bassheads.

Comfort:
9.0/10
Despite funky looking design, it actually stays put quite well.
Not heavy on your ears.

2nd impression:
8.0/10
Bass seriously could use more work! But again, hard to beat at the price.
Everything else stands.
All things considered, these have exceptional highs and mids, bass is the type that only sounds good on classical songs.
Classical songs are absolutely amazing with these.

Bottom Line:
Are they better than Astrotec AX-35? I'd say... No, but those are like $20-30 more. AX-35 has even more crisp/punchiness to the highs, and cleaner/more defined bass. However, maybe a bit too bright for some.
Is it worth $35? Without a doubt, though I wouldn't go past $45.
Where did I purchase them? Massdrop
Could benefit from some amplification.

ProsCons
exceptionally crisp highs, warm mids, neutral bassdon't get them if you are a basshead

is there any brands over 40$ that aren't a scam? No. So how's the price so great? It's not.
