sorta... if you use 7/16 over 1/2, it will be a fairly tight seal and you won't have to use clamps.

as far as having greater flow rate, the difference is very small, to the point it's not noticeable in the performance area.

If you go with 7/16 i.d. tubing you will need to soak the hose ends in very hot water
for a few minutes, this makes putting them on a lot easier

For a water block I would suggest ether the EK Supreme HF or the HF lite
I also like to use fittings that have a captive o-ring, Dtek, EK, and bits power are both made this way
EK fitting with captive o-ring
Bitspower with captive o-ring
Danger Den with standard o-ring
If you look at the images for each of those fittings you will see the difference
The captive o-ring seals much better to a flat surface than the standard o-ring

will take a look for those in the UK now.

I've just ordered some white 7/16 tubing from chilled pc, should be here within a few days.

Also, What are your views on this pump?

Highly recommend this combo, been using it for two years with zero leaks. The fit is so tight you won't be able to take it off without cutting it. Also, in addition to the boiling trick, you can also put some soap on the tip of the barb in order to let it slide more easily (in case you are having a hard time putting it on).
