anybody know which of the above might be best suited to cool my e6300.
I am having problems keeping it cool, stock it was running at 55*c idle/65*C load. (maxed out on temp before 100% load) TAT.
i have scrounged my Dad's Zalman9500, and temps are roughly 10*C lower.
I need something to get it down a bit more.
any ideas.

I like Thermalright personally, never had a bad experience and really simple to use. My SI-120 copes beautifully with this 4200+, right now I'm idling at 26C and loading around 40C in a 25C room. The new Ultra-120 is supposed to be pretty good.

The Big Typhoon is a good cooler but some people say its awkward to work with. I've never seen one so I don't know if thats true or not. bigvaL has a Tuniq Tower 120 and swears its the best thing around, but they are extremely rare, especially over here in Europe.

I agree with the Tuniq being basically equal to the Ultra-120. The BT is old and dumb. I just got through taking it off to install my new NB cooler and it brought back horrible memories of installing it for the first time. Anyways, I would get the Thermalright Ultra-120 (heatsink) with a Silverstone FM121 (fan) and have ridiculous air cooling!

What about the Infinity guys? Why does everyone just ignore it? It beats the tuniq tower head to head. Right now it is the best air cooler out.

:edit:
Jesus! Do people know how to test anymore? Idiots...
This one used simiular fans at low speeds, but same at higher. http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid...e=expert&pid=5

Best thing I can think of, that is not out of stock (ex:Tuniq Tower), is a Scythe Infinity, remove the stock fan and replace with TWOx Silverstone FM121 110CFM fans.
