okay so x360 works/displays well on a hdtv. and also we know the fact that samsung is the official hdtv for x360. but then what's the best screen size for the hdtv. is it the bigger the better? what's the most appropriate size?:withstupi

Size is a matter of personal opinion... the real question you need to be asking yourself is how much money you're willing to throw away.

Yeah I know when it comes to size, it boils down to how much u can afford. but I heard that norm TV is best viewed at 25". does HDTV have its best-viewed-at size? just asking, if there is.

i have a 51'' toshiba hdtv tv. it isnt lcd or dlp i think its just rear projection. can my tc go to 1080 dpi? heres the model: toshiba 51hx84

Eh? Where did you see this? I think it's nonsense. For me, 25" would be too big if you're two feet away (e.g. it's on a kitchen countertop) but too small if your sofa is 12 feet away. Yiffy is right, I don't think there is a single "best" size for any TV, it's all personal preference and what you can afford.

It should say in your TV's manual what resolutions it supports. I don't think it could claim to be HD unless it supported 1080i, so you're probably okay. (FYI - There is no such thing as 1080 dpi in this context, dpi is "dots per inch" and is usually used when discussing printer resolution.)

Where you need to go is Sound Advice or some place that has HDTV of all various sizes on the wall or on the floor. I spent a good hour in Sound ADivce (car audio install) and looked at about 15 HDTV of various sizes on one wall all with te same program and they all looked different.

If you get too big the color isn't as crisp as the smaller ones but if you go to small you might not be able to use it for a living room TV, maybe an office desk. The one's in the 32-42" range I thought were the best, if you go bigger the picture isn't as clear but still way better than regular digital

It depends.. Here check this out. That way you can calculate how far away you think you will sit so you can find a TV the right size. I am like 8ft from my 47" and its just right....

You are thinking WAY too far into all this. With a huge TV you should be at least a few feet away. Your vision can also affect where the best place for you to sit at is.

I'm about 8 feet away from my 65 incher. Most people who see it for the first time think the couch is too close to the TV, but I like the screen to be big to simulate a movie theater experience somewhat.

if I'm to put viewing distance into this, my living room ain't that big though. for the time being, I'm playing 360 on my norm 25 tv at about 1 feet distance. how's that?

You're only one foot away from your TV? Wow, that's pretty close. Probably bad for your eyes!

25" is plenty big enough for that distance, I imagine you can already see the pixels if you look close enough.

hehe, my living room kinda small though. plus, I put my game-shelf in a way that kinda block my view to the tv. but hey, listening to ur advice, I'd better distance myself away from the screen.

p/s - that explains for the crispness of the pixels
