Quote:

Two US senators have asked President Barack Obama's administration to allow the public to review and comment on a controversial international copyright treaty being negotiated largely in secret. The public has a right to know.....

from their letter:

Quote:

We are surprised and unpersuaded by assertions that disclosures of basic information about the negotiation would present a risk to the national security of the United States, particularly as regards documents that are shared with all countries in the negotiations, and with dozens of representatives of large corporations. We are concerned that the secrecy of such information reflects a desire to avoid potential criticism of substantive provisions in ACTA by the public, the group who will be most affected by the agreement. Such secrecy has already undermined public confidence in the ACTA process.... We firmly believe that the public has a right to know the contents of the proposals being considered under ACTA, just as they have the right to read the text of bills pending before Congress."

Good idea. The public needs to know what kind of atrocities the governments have planned beforehand so they can print their war cry banners in advance.

We will have a shortage if not. You know how shortages go, new signs will become a luxury. (WW2 signs will go on clearance though.)

While I completely agree, you should maybe avoid the phrase, "atrocities", It's pretty inflammatory, as in causing this thread to go up in flames :/

Disregard that, I'm a moron who can't tell sarcasm.

Now you're trying to suggest not even real life protests are effective?

God, it must be nice having hallucinations. I bet I could type an utterly random string of words and some people 'round here would find some sort of 'hidden meaning' in them. As a matter of fact, I'll do just that, let's see what kind of dumb, contrived and completely imaginary things people pull out of it!

Absolutely nowhere have I mentioned real protests at all. Even the implied meaning is a positive one, it's quite advantageous to get one's banners printed beforehand so you don't get price-gouged the day before the protest.

Stop misreading my posts.

Real protests work quite well. It's done everything from desegregating Montgomery, Alabama's buses to freeing India from British control. I fail to see how you see "Real protests don't work" in my post.

Use reading comprehension instead of reading imagination. It goes a ways.
