Latency aside this is rather nice. Sadly that board can't overclock RAM at all or tweak timings.

they are locked down tighter than a snare drum. Very unfortunate. My z820 got 2nd place overall at HWBOT in ddr3 memory bandwidth so its not all bad.

Some older server / workstation boards had BCLK setting available. It's unlikely but you should check if BCLK could be increased on that board.

Hello guys, if you need a new board single cpu try on ebay the fujitsu SHINE AS NEW! This board have pcie bifurcation on slot 3 4x4x4x4 and can turbo all day maybe on v3 can boost over the specs. I got one comes with cd and backplate

I have heard that x79 with older HP bios had BCLK setting, not sure if that is true or not. Yea they didn't want you to get free performance during x99 life time, kind of sad because I am sure these chips could easily do 200 - 400 MHz higher on stock voltage.

I suppose x299 is a thing, if you want to mess with aging Intel CPUs and have tons of cores. But x299 is rather expensive and always has been, certainly not worth it at this point in time.
