title says it all. friend was updating, the internet died, and not he cant boot into the partition. when i put in the ubuntu install disk it says there are errors, however when i run a scan from the disk it finds nothing. this happened to anyone or anyone know how to fix it? windows is also on there and he doesnt want to lose it. CHEERS!

It would probably be easier to run the live CD, copy everything you need to another partition and make a new installation. Make sure you choose the ubuntu partition while installing and not the windows one.

solved. just used windows to delete the partition, which broke grub, which was fixed by a re-installation of ubuntu.
