UD3P reboot loop after hibernating

OK, I figured out what causes my mobo to shut down and then get stuck in a loop. I need to know if this is a Vista thing or a BIOS thing. If I set my PC to hibernate, when I go to power on, the reboot loop starts. The strange thing is that this happens after my PC is idle. I have net set it to hibernate, so I have no clue why it is doing it.

Is this caused by the mobo or the OS? I am going to install W7 on another partition and see if it does it with that too.

Does that have anything to do with the S3 thing. Not sure if S3 is part of the hybernate deal but I know that doesnt work with any of the bios's for this board.

I am not sure what the S3 thing is?? Iwill say, I loaded W7 on another partition and it has been fine. Left it on overnight and it stayed runnuing.

What I don't get is the fact that I can tell Vista to hibernate and it will go into the loop. I have no idea why it decided to hibernate when it is idle. I have never set it to do that and none of my other Vista installs have ever done that. I might try a reinstall and see if that does anything.

OK, I know what the S3 is now. I did change that last night to. (sets hibernate to hdd instead of RAM when hibernating) That seems to do the trick.
Good! Glad your resolving this issue.

I don't enable Hibernate support so I've never had this more than the 1-3 restarts on reboot to update the BIOS values; as stated in your last thread.

Hope she holds mate!

This happened to me, I went into hibernate. Unplugged all of my peripherals. Then when I turned my computer on, it wouldn't restart, or send anything to the screen. Idk what exactly fixed it, but I turned the power off, removed the power connector to the psu, then hooked everything back up and it fixed.

UD3R does this as well...and on Windows 7...while trying to 'Sleep'...
S1 or S3 doesn't seem to make a difference...nor does trying hybrid sleep mode...
Hey dralb have you looked at the thread at XS, I know they talked about it a bit over there, not sure how much info they had on it but it may be worth a look.
