Hi,

i have an AMD X3 720 BE 0904 and a Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P. When i unlock my fourth core everything seems fine... Windows runs stable but when i read the Core temperature with any tools its say -245 or 0... So my CPU fan runs as slow as possible. When i stress test my CPU (Prime95) the fan does not spin up and my cpu overheats.... When i reset my bios and go back to X3 the temperature read out is fine.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks.

I wouldn't use the 4th Core. It's primarily the reason why AMD turn it off in the first place. It's known to cause issues.

Run Speedfan or Coretemp to view your temps.

i have the same issue, the way im doing it. is overclock it as an x3
and up voltages to as safe as u want and check temps
then when ur oc'ing the 940 just dont go over that voltage. Temps should be similar from x3 to x4.

Disable automatic fan control in the BIOS, and you can read accurate temps with 4th core enabled in the BIOS. At least on my board you can.
