Water cooling is not an option, but I am wondering how good they would perform with new coolers. I was looking at the Accelero and the VF3000. It is either sell the 480's and get 2 580's or get 2 Coolers. Would I be able to compete with 580's at 900MHz?

480's are ~ 15% slower, so yes at 900mhz you would be able to compete with a stock 580. I don't think it would be worth it to get 580's, for the amount you can sell your cards for, and then the amount that you would spend extra to buy 580's just wouldn't add up. Remember though, when you get fans that are exhausting into your case, the case temps are going to rise significantly so make sure that you have good airflow

Why is watercoolibg not an option? Your entire system could easily be done for like $300 or less.

Why not think about h2o?

In my past experience, new coolers for the gpus disappointed me. I would have had the same results, had i taken a nice TIM and applied to the stock cooler.

I just really dont want the headache, i prefer maintenance free. Is 200CFM Exhaust going to be good enough.
