So I'm considering upgrading from my 40gb Intel. Putting it in my HTPC and getting something like a 64gb C300.

Besides the benefit of having an SSD in my HTPC will I feel much of a difference with the C300. Uses are medium gaming and normal stuff, web browsing, light apps etc.

I've been happy with the Intel, my birthday is coming up and I will have about 200 bucks to play with. My max budget for the SSD is $150.

So what do you guys think?

Or is this a better option?

Hmm. Guess you're not going to wait on the next generation of SSDs then? My choices would be the Intel X-25M G2 80GB SSD or any 60GB Sandforce SSD (your pick but remember to get one with better support). I thought the 256GB version of the C300 is the top performer, but the other versions fall behind in write speeds.

I may wait to see what intel has to offer with their new drives.

you probably won't "feel" a difference... but who knows

Corsair Sandforce-based will have faster writes, and possibly longer lifespan (Although no-one knows since it's all new)

C300 will have an additional 4GB... and possibly faster in some benchmarks.
