Currently I am thinking of upgrading my Radeon HD 4850(@ 625/993) to the current generation 5850 or 5870, but I am concerned that upgrading will place a bottleneck on my graphics card due to my processor, a Q6600 w/ DDR2.

Is this the case or am I wrong?

Should I plan on upgrading to a i7 920, which would then require a new mobo and memory, DDR3? If so, would the EVGA SLI LE motherboard be the way to go?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You won't see a bottleneck. Perhaps overclocking the CPU a bit seeing that you have an H50. That'll eliminate any thoughts of a bottle neck. You'll have no problem upgrading to a 5850/5870.

ya, you shouldnt have a problem upgrading to a 5850/5870. and i bet you can get away with OC a bit more on you q6600. but either way it will not bottleneck.

now go out and get a 5850 or 70!
