Hello, I like to upgrade my 3 years old Acer Ferrari 4005, first of all i like to upgrade the RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB (possibly 400MHz - PC3200)

a) Please tell me i heard 400MHz detected as 333Mhz, so what;s the solution of this?
b) I have to choose 1GB x 2 RAM modules to install the ram?
c) Can anyone recommend the best RAM for this laptop.
d) Later i like to little overclock the notebook to extract best results without freezing. So, please suggest.

I am using Windows XP SP3 (32bit) I already updated on the drivers including flash the bios with all the latest drivers available on acer website.

Please suggest.

a) It is dependent on your CPU and FSB.
b) If you have two DIMM slots, you will need either 2x1GB or 1x2GB for 2GB.
c) Doesn't matter... get the cheapest.
d) Why is it freezing in the first place? Test that first.

Just a little thing on point c. I would have to dissagree. Cheap RAM is awful. Stick with a brand such as Kingston, Corsair or Patriot. The value lines of these are fine. Kingston offers a lifetime guarantee on their products.

It is also the cause of many system faults. System mysteriously rebooting? Generally the RAM is at fault, in about 90% of cases.
