I currently have an Athlon 64 x2 6000+ and a HD4850 on a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 motherboard.

I plan on upgrading to a Phenom II 955 C3.

Will my current PSU, a Fortron 400PNF, be able to hold that?

Yes your PSU should hold up quite well but I'm afraid your motherboard doesn't support Socket AM3 CPUs...

According to the Gigabyte website it will. Here's the
link. Will take an 1100T according to the CPU support list. Should be fine on the PSU though I would consider a 650 or so if you plan on upgrading video card to something more powerful down the road.

Nevermind, newegg has their information wrong. The gigabyte website says it supports AM3 so you're good to go.
