Hey guys i need some help on choosing nice ram that can go well with my rig.
I know that its not good to mix ram so im going to look for a 2gbx2 kit. I currently have my fsb overclocked to the max (at least i think), so ill be needing ram that can overclock to that speed which at 1:1 is 925 mhz. I want my timings to be as tight as possible to squeeze the most performance out of them

I was leaning toward ddr2 8500 ram that runs at 1066 mhz to be safe that it would run at 925 mhz and then some more so if you guys can suggest ram in that category. Price should be around 50 dollars give or take 10 bucks.

Thanks!

No there wouldn't be a difference, there is hardly one for DDR2 vs. DDR3. I'll post a benchmark but I have to find it first.

EDIT:
Here are some good charts, I know there's a better one somewhere on Tom's Hardware but I can't find it.

Agree 100%. I've been very impressed with my G.Skill ram up till now. I've used at least 10-15 of their kits over the last year and will keep using them. IMO the 1066 kit for $52.99 with free shipping is the best price/performance ratio you will find.

I have G-Skill and I love it. I had 4gb of DDR2 800 in my computer but with Crysis, I was running at 90%. So, I upgraded to 8gb DDR2 1066 and I have noticed a pretty good stability increase. I am a G-Skill owner for life after what I have seen with my computer as well as my wifes.

Mushkin DDR2-1000 5-5-5-12...DO IT! Will definitely do 1066, and then some. Mushkin is all about RAM.

Or my basic Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 does 956MHz 5-4-4-15-2T @ 2.0V just fine. Also did 800MHz 4-4-4-12-2T @ 2.0V, but Everest Memory Benchmark showed much better results with my current settings. Haven't tried for more, but 100% Memtest stable.
