Upgrading the Thermaltake bigwater block

313 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  wowza
ok, well, yea it seems like it's time to upgrade my bigwater kit.. the major downfall of kits is upgrading, I know.. I am eventually going to revamp the whole setup, but I wanna do 1 piece of the pie first (oh, forgot I had some pie...umm cherry).. anyways, first up, I thought would be my waterblock. I aint a big fan of the plastic TT bigwater one.. Anyways, the tubing size is 12cm, or just under 3/8 in. Now, What would be the best waterblock under 45bux I could buy to fit this size? Would this TDX fit this or not? Thanks for the opinions.

Yeah, It will work, Just need to buy the 3/8" fittings with it.

Won't perform well though, The rad, The pump, Will probably make it perform worse then with the TT block.

Best bet is to save and buy new everything.

too poor to do that.. so really, any 3/8in block should work?

From what I've heard this performs better than the DD tdx http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-blc-245.html?id=iUX4F44j

humm I was looking at that a second ago, I wonder how well that will handle sub-zero water.. I know my TT bigwater would crack in a second

long story short, sub zero water would be ice.. lol.. I add a mix of anti-freeze so it has a lower freezing point.. Don't worry about sub-zero if you don't plan on doing anything xtreme..(/shouldn't be a consern) I'm just worried about cracking due to low temps.
