Hello guys, i just bought a hd6990 yesterday .
I installed the newest driver and also tweaked it to 920mhz/1400mhz with o.c bios.

The thing is that i found out on google and on this site ppl are getting about 90-100 fps outside and 100+ fps inside in bf3 beta with all on ultra and in 1080p resolution.

But mine only has 68 avg fps outside and 90 fps inside areas using fraps recording .
I have everything on ultra as well as AF AND AA to the max and HABO on.

I also didn't have the vnysc thing on either.

When i do 3d mark and vantage or heaven , all score seem fair.

What fps are u guys getting with one hd6990?

I am thinking if my card is defective or some ppl are exaggerating their performance.

Thank you.

My rig is : 2500k @ 4.4g corsair 850w psu ASrock extreme4 gen 3 board 2x4g gskill 1600 ram.

Probably the difference between "max" and "ultra".
"with my 2x6970'[email protected] 950/5800 im getting :

outdoor ultra : 70-100 fps.

Indoor : 100-150fps.

1920*1200"

This is one of the guys who owned 2x6970 from this forum and he is having a lot better performance than me even though sometimes 2 6970 performs a lil better than 1 6990, but he has like 30 fps more than what i have. That is a lot.

I've seen lots of exaggerated fps readings from BF3 going around... People probably just check the fps while standing around and say: "It's mah min fps!1!".

That and the settings that do not work properly when you try to change them.

I have 6950s in xfire clocked to 900/1325, very similar to 6990 or 6970xfire and i get around 70-100fps outside and 120+ inside. Its quite hard to say my average but i wud say somewer in the lower 80s. If i turn HBAO and AA on i average in the 60-70 range but i get terrible microstuttering so i tune it down to keep it above 80.

Do u have all AA AND AF on the max setting also do u have HABO on too?

What driver are u using right now?

Have you tried playing the game without recording on Fraps? Just let it show the FPS (not recording) and see how your frames are. You can't expect to get the same FPS + record the game video at the same time.

Only if you're recording, and even if it's on another disk you'll still lose frames.

If the counter is up, there is no loss in fps as far as I can tell, but then again how could I tell without the counter? I use both MSI OSD and fraps for min/max/avg, you don't lose fps as far as I can tell.

Try with no AA. I think AA does not work correctly with ATI cards as of now.

So basically do you guys think It is the driver or it is my card which might be a defective one based on the fps i am getting right now.

outside: 80+
inside: 130+

Using these AUTO settings (I see no point on putting every little setting on ULTRA, as I can discern no difference)

Using Updated RAGE Performance Driver, and 11.9 CAP1
