I was copying some music from comp to flashdrive. I plugged it into USB 3.0 port and it was copying at 300kb/s. Then I tried the 2.0 port and it was 3.5mb/s.

Is this normal? is 2.0 device suppose to perform so poorly if plugged into 3.0 port?

Hrm. No, the behavior is abnormal. I get about 240mbits/sec on a USB2.0 HDD when connected to my USB3.0 add-in card. Haven't tried a flash drive though, since I don't copy any really large files to my flash drives...

I get maximum device speeds when using HDDs or SSDs connected in USB3.0; around 100MBytes/sec.
