USB keyboard does not work after I restart my PC

They keyboard works fine in BIOS. however, it hangs when I boot into Vista. please help

The keyboard hangs? or the entire system?

If the keyboard hangs - boot into Vista without it, then connect it and see if Vista detects the keyboard.

Could it be a driver issue? Windows should recognize it and install the driver automatically, but you might have to try a manual install.

If you have an option for USB legacy support in BIOS...make sure its enabled...thats about the only thng i can think of.

Vista runs fine, its the keyboard.

Its the same keyboard I used for Vista installation, it was working fine untill I restarted my pc today.

My keys run fine on my laptop.

I can only see USB KEYBOARD SUPPORT option and its enabled by default.

Do you have that USB port disabled in Windows? Do other accessories work when plugged into that port?

OP already stated that the KB works in BIOS - USB legacy support is enabled when you need to use a keyboard in the bios, not the OS.

Sounds like the keyboard isnt working with Vista for some reason.

I'd say get a new one, or like kremtok said, see if that port is disabled in Vista.
