Use P55 or Gigabyte GSATA?

I just finished putting together my i5 upgrade. I put the two WD Caviar on RAID0. I ended up using the P55 RAID support and not the Gigabyte GSATA raid controller. Did I make the right decision? Should I have use the GB controller?

Stick with the Intel controller. It will give much better performance.

Thanks, thats what I figured. I guess the only use for the GSATA is if you want to have multiple RAID setups going. I seem to be "case limited" to be going that route, plus I am a big believer in just having larger drives since it means less heat and less power.

You'd only need to go with the GSATA ports if you use up all the Intel ports. You can run multiple arrays on the 6-ports that's provided by the Intel ICHxR controller.

'course having 6 HDDs or more in your computer case does generate a crapload of heat...
