Well, I load up fedora linux in graphical mode with my 6800gs, and I get a screen like when you overclock your GPU way too much... How do I fix this? I can use my 6100 onboard ok at 800x600, but thats as good as it gets...

Do you have a different monitor that you could try? I had a problem like this about 8 months ago when I got my 6800GS. For some reason my LCD monitor did that, then I tried the CRT and she worked great. So I put the LCD back on the dell machine where it works fine for some reason. Everyone I ask didn't seem to know why though. Most just be something with the monitor, I not sure of that though.

Hmm, I'll try that when Knoppix is ready. (I'm burning the DVD version of 5.0)

Aha!
Someone with the same problem as I was having.
I couldn't get any Linux distro to work with my previous card. (6800GS). Did exactly what you said. Onboard worked fine. 7600GT worked fine. But no 6800GS.
Just thought I'd throw that in.
