Hi all,

The last couple of times I've installed blocks on my 580s, it's resulted - whether from OCing, improper block mounting, or what have you - in artifacting. To try and rule a couple of things out, is it ok to use ArctiClean on :

a) Your GPU.
b) Your RAM chips.
c) Your block.

Thanks.

If you live in a country/locality where you can buy denatured alcohol with no dye or mineral oil added to it, get some of that for cleaning electronics parts.

It is inexpensive for a relatively large quantity.
Unlike isopropyl alcohol, it contains no water.

[edit]
I just noticed you are in Ireland. I don't know what their requirements are, but if they are the same as in England, any denatured alcohol you can buy would have both dye and mineral oil in it.

Don't use it on IHS free GPU's 8600GT's and most AMD cards in general.
I've had bad luck with those as I can't think of any coincidence.

To bad you can't buy R-11 refrigerant anymore, it is the best electronics parts cleaner ever in the history of the planet.
It is what used to be in spray cans of electrical parts cleaner up until about 20 years ago.
