seems like I loose a little mem bandwidth when I use a partial multi (40.25 multi) as apposed to a normal (40 multi) am i seeing things or has someone else noticed this too? is it just better to stick with a 40x multi, and raise my bclk up to meet my goal?

Next time you are messing with it , make sure it gives the same setting values for your ram using RTC at the different clock speeds you are testing. Also disable geardown mode in order to level the playing field.
