Dual graphics. I'm pretty sure UT2K7 is going to be pretty graphics card dependent.

I would get a Conroe build and a DX10 card when they come out.

games these days benefit much more from a good GPU than CPU. if you are running at a high resolution, CPU barely figures in at all

</div>Exactly as he says. <br />
<br />
But if I have to choose, dual core CPU cause UT2007 gonna utilize it.

</div>Well being a game, you would hope so...but the reason I'm asking is b/c the URengines are nororious CPU hogs...i donna about the UR3 engine tho....

</div>even so - go with a better GPU. games are very much GPU-limited - the engine will not be nearly as taxing as rendering is.<br />
<br />
not to mention that just because a game is dual core optimized does not mean that it will show much benefit from a dual core cpu. multi-threaded app coding is far from efficient or beneficial

</div>The same's probably true for SLI, cause in real games it's only supposed to have a 30% increase in FPS.... <br />
<br />
But you're saying if i'm goin dual, better make it SLI...

sli sees benefits mainly from high resolutions. if you are going to be running at something close to 1024x768 go for a good single card rather than sli

</div>Well I have a 21" monitor so 1280x1024 would be nicer <img src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" /> <br />
<br />

I'd get Dual-Core.<br />
<br />
Epic is absolutely amazing at coding game engines, and I still think that it'll be CPU bottlenecked. 1280x1024 isn't that high of a resolution anyway, play Half-Life 2 @ 1920x1440 sometime like I do.

What card are you planning on getting if you do not go SLi? Cause I dont think your 9800 is going to be able to run UT2007 very well.<br />
<br />
And if I had to choose I would say the CPU as DX10 is coming out soon, so no sense spending too much right now. If anything get a 7600GT to tide you over till then.<br />

</div>I'm gonna upgrade my mobo, CPU and vid card at the same time. I'd probably go for a 7900gto or 7950 for single-card. <br />
<br />
I suppose that's true about DX10, but that also means I'd have to buy windows vista right? <i>That</i> would mean bye bye or crash-crash to Windows XP games right? I was under the impression that DX9 games won't won't w/ DX10?...

I would say get a E6300 and ram. If you don't want a E6300 just don't upgrade and get DX10 cards when they come out.
