Impressive IGP results.

Wow, that iGPU is seriously impressive. I wasn't really expecting much out of Broadwell, but with that IPC and iGPU.... that's amazing.

Can't wait to see overclocked results.

Еxactly in this review speaks more for Iris Pro. We need to see i7-5775c vs i7 4790k on equal frequencies.

I will change my i5 4440 for i7 5775c, my motherboard z97 Asus Ranger waiting

Wow.
Broadwell just finished the AMD APUs.
To be honest Broadwell didn´t kill them but the lack of memory bandwidth did yars ago already.

Intel also has "offload to iGPU" feature in their compiler which will no doubt support Broadwell soon enough.

Zen CPUs and Zen APUs with HBM should have been here year ago

How much worse can it get.

Oh boy intel iGPUs are now 100% faster than AMD ones...

This is one of the Tom's early reviews. For some reason they often get their hands on intel CPUs early without having to sign an NDA. The normal reviews will come later.

E: or maybe not... I see pcghw.de also has a review...

Zen APU won't have HBM. At least AMD did not mention anything about that. ALso, I doubt that it will have because it would cost a lot to manufacture

Then the concept of APUs are dead.
DDR4 cannot provide enough of bandwidth even for the current generation iGPUs in APUs.
Unless of course there is 4000MHz+ capable DDR4 modules available at the time of launch

I wonder how much intel's superior IMCs are helping broadwell compared to Kaveri...

Must be nice having much higher effective memory bandwidth than your competitor.

E: I'm dumb, these also have the L4 cache helping out...

well, since Intel just don't care to increase CPU core number they have rly much room to work with for iGPU. i5-750 45nm (4 cores)... i5-5675C 14nm (4 cores). I couldn't care less tho

What I understand from the reviews is that the 5775C performs equally to 4790K, even with 700 MHz less in stock clock speed, is more power efficient, will have better temps, has great overclock potetntial and a far better IGPU. Correct me if I am wrong.

It's a shame we don't see more cores on the mainstream platform however it must also be pointed out that an iGPU this extreme is a one off for the consumer parts.

Skylake is apparently going back to the normal 4+2 config.

The memory controllers on Intels are definitely better however most of the critical bandwidth comes from the 128MB L4 cache.
Otherwise DDR-1600 would be completely insufficient.

That look on our face when we all read the Toms review and see how Broadwell performs when we know it could have been so much more if AMD would actually compete like in the past. Truth be told, I am more shocked about the IRIS PRO iGPU than what the CPU does

. I mean they are actually bringing decent gaming to ultrabooks

Woah that is some seriously shocking results. Definitely was not expecting Iris Pro 6200 to be that good, guess that's why it's priced how it is (with the high cost of the L4 cache). Makes the 7870k look more like a $70 part in comparison.
