Very annoyed -_-

My two raptors, have both died in a period of a week.. i got them 5-6 months ago. Both under warranty though which is good. I had them in raid0, one died, reinstalled on just the one, a week later bang >.< the arm died in both of them, all i hear is ticking. I was just wondering when I RMA them, what will I get back? Do they still make these old raptors or?

You will get the same thing back, or the next best thing usually. I would fret.

I believe they do, and if they don't, they'll just fix it and resend it to you.

That's what me and my dad were thinking, fix it or either send second hand ones >.< in a bootable linux trying to partition my storage drive to install windows -_- lol.

Well if they send you new ones and they are not functioning right, I am sure they will take them back. Then you just ask for new ones.

Unfortunately, unlike the other WD drives, the Raptors have a bit of a reputation for this sort of thing. It might worth seeing if they would replace them with the "enterprise" version of the Raptor - not sure if they're made of stronger stuff or it's just the warranty that makes it "enterprise" though...
