My dad has an Averatec tablet PC with the following specs:
Athlon XP-M 2200+
512DDR RAM
60GB HD
13in. screen
Win. XP Tablet PC edition
The boot up times on this PC are so slow, and my dad is wondering what he can do to decrease teh boot-up time.
He has windows xp look, with olive green, and extra large fonts, about 25 desktop icons, and a desktop picture.

Thanks,

Clean up the icons on the desktop! That's one of the fastest ways to reduce load times. Also, try using a lower quality image as the background. Not one that has a ton of shapes or figures. That probably won't help too much, but every second counts.

You can remove the desktop picture, clean up your desktop of icons (the less the better), defragment the hard drive, go to run, and type msconfig, and in the services and startup tab, remove all unnecessary applications, and that's about it I think...
